The college students of Tumkur stage a march in 1944 against the country being partitioned. They were protesting against the decision of Gandhiji-Rajaji supporting partition. HRN prepared a memorandum in english and kannada, in multiple copies, and collected the signatures of 107 students, merchants, academics etc. His signature is the first one, if you can magnify the adjoining picture and see it carefully.
He sent a copy each to a) Mahatma Gandhi, b) The Editor, 'The Hindu' and c) The Editor, 'Maratta' (of Balagangadar Tilak), keeping one copy for the records. The letters were despatched under certificate of posting on 27th August 1944. The acknowledgement with a stamp from the post office is also available in original.
