Does conferences influence younger generation?

HRN was very active in a cultural organisation called 'Sanmitra Sangha' while studying at Tumkur. This association was known for arranging lectures from eminent people in the literary and journalistic fields. People like Gorur Ramaswamy Iyengar, Ta.Ra.Subbarao, Bhoopalam Chandrashekariah, Shivarama Karanth etal. had accepted invitations from these young college going lads. The sangha organised one such conference on 05-08-1945 inviting P.R.Ramaiya, Proprietor 'Tayi Nadu' and Editor 'Daily News', H. Srikantiah, Editor 'Federal India and Indian States', K. Jeevanna Rao, Editor 'Naguva Nanda' and N.S. Venkoba Rao, Editor 'Desha Bandhu'. HRN, as a student volunteer had an occasion to listen to all these veterans of Kannada Journalism. He writes in his diary that the conference influenced him to take up the Journalism Profession.
